Trying to connect your Instagram account to KW Command — only to find that your account isn’t showing up?

This is one of the most common social media connection issues we see, and fortunately, it usually has a pretty simple explanation.

Before Instagram can connect to Command for social post scheduling, two things need to be set up first:

  1. Your Instagram account needs to be a professional account.

  2. Your Instagram account needs to be connected to your Facebook Business Page.

In other words, connecting Instagram directly inside Command is actually the last step.

Step 1: Make Sure Your Instagram Is a Professional Account

Instagram accounts can be set up as personal, business, or creator accounts.

For Command's social posting integration, your Instagram needs to be a professional account. For most real estate agents using Instagram to market their business, a Business account is typically the most straightforward choice.

If your account is currently personal, Instagram will give you the option to switch it to a professional account.

Step 2: Connect Instagram to Your Facebook Business Page

This is the step we see missed most often.

Even if you already have both an Instagram account and a Facebook Business Page, that doesn't necessarily mean the two are connected.

From the Instagram app:

  1. Go to your Profile.

  2. Select Edit Profile.

  3. Scroll to Public Business Information if you have a Business account, or Profile Information if you have a Creator account.

  4. Tap Page.

  5. Select Connect or Create.

  6. Tap Continue.

  7. Log in to Facebook when prompted.

  8. Choose the Facebook Business Page associated with your real estate business.

  9. Tap Connect.

You may be asked to log into your personal Facebook account during this process. Don't worry — that does not mean your Instagram is being connected to your personal Facebook profile.

Your personal Facebook account is being used to verify that you have the appropriate access to manage the Facebook Business Page.

One Important Thing to Check

You'll also need the appropriate level of access to the Facebook Business Page you're trying to connect.

If someone else originally created your Page — such as an assistant, previous marketing company, or another member of your business — make sure your personal Facebook account has the necessary Page access before troubleshooting anything else.

Step 3: Connect Instagram to KW Command

Once Instagram is professional and connected to the correct Facebook Business Page, you're ready to connect it to Command.

Log into Command and:

  1. Click your profile/name in the upper-right corner.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Find Instagram (Post Scheduling) under your connected applications.

  4. Click Connect Account.

  5. Log into the Facebook account associated with your Facebook Business Page.

  6. Continue through the permissions screen.

  7. Select the Facebook Business Page connected to the Instagram account you want to use.

  8. Click Connect.

Once successfully connected, Command will show options to manage the connection, and you'll be able to select the connected Instagram account when creating and scheduling social posts.

Still Not Seeing Your Instagram Account?

Before assuming something is wrong with Command, work backward through the connection:

Instagram Professional Account → Facebook Business Page → KW Command

If one piece of that chain isn't connected correctly, your Instagram account may not appear as an available option inside Command.

Also double-check that you're logging into the correct personal Facebook account — specifically, the one that has access to the Facebook Business Page connected to your Instagram.

Once all three pieces are connected, you'll be ready to create and schedule Instagram content directly through Command.

Ready to connect everything? Follow the steps above first, then head into Command Settings to complete your Instagram connection.
